Installing 12 bolt

Can anyone give me some tips on installing it? I plan on doing this tommorow in my works shop with a lift.

hmm...2.5-2.75 qts (with TA cover), 1 bottle of GM LSD additive. Make sure you paint it before installation - wouldn't want that expensive thing to rust.

Otherwise it's pretty straight forward....out with the old and in with the new. Make sure your driveshaft length is correct and you have the correct rear u-joint.

Re: Installing 12 bolt

I put in a strange not to long ago.

Yeah, you have to paint it. I sprayed mine with rustoleum.

Also, only thing thats not "plug and play" is the driveshaft u-joint. They supply you with one, but I had to bring my driveshaft to a machine shop for them to press the old one out and press the new one in.

Other then that, it's just unbolting and rebolting. Make sure you follow the fill directions, and drain and refill the 12 bolt as 1k miles.

Also, while I was in there, i replaced my rear shocks.

My friend did his Moser and said it was pretty straight forward. Like everyone else said make sure you paint it and all that. Good luck on the install, let us know how it goes.

Re: Installing 12 bolt

I am going to install a new rear suspension while i am in there. I got hal 12 way shocks, drag bags, LCA, PHR, TA and springs. I cant wait to get in there and get this done. I bought this strange 12 bolt from a local guy and i picked up the dennys nitrous ready driveshaft too.

Re: Installing 12 bolt

Injuneer thanks for the link. That helped alot. It actually went pretty well. Except the BMR torque arm i couldnt get it to go on. The 3 bolts on the tailshaft I couldn't get the out. I got the bolts off and couldnt get the bolts to slide out of the tranny.

I also put new BMR lca, phb, driveshaft safety loop and denny's nitrous ready driveshaft.
