I'm installing a custom 9" rear with custom TA. It looks like the new cross member and TA mount wont clear the old TA mount. I was looking at how to remove the old mount and I just cant see it. Looks like there is a bolt in there without a head to put a wrench on. Am I missing something. BTW I do have the old TA out.

 

Are you saying you don't know how to take the stock TA mount off the tailshaft of the tranny? A4 or M6?

 

Yes!! Its an M6.

 

That bolt without a head is a stud and goes thru the tail housing. There's a nut on the other end. The other bottom bolt goes thru also and has a nut on it.

 

OK thanx. Thats kinda what I was thinking but I didnt want to start tearing other stuff apart without checking first. I searched seven pages before posting btw so hopefully this helps someone down the road.
