i got my trans fluid checked today and i was 7/10 of a qt low... do you think i might have hurt something?

I'd be very surprised if you didn't seriously damage the thing if in fact you had only about a quart of oil in the thing. Of course, there is the possibility that damage is minimized if you weren't doing a lot of highway driving.

They told you were just over a 1/2 quart low out of 4? Don't think that would cause any damage - too late now anyway - run it and check the fluid every oil change. Did you have it checked because something wasn't right? Maybe they were just being sure they charged you for a full quart? Dunno for sure, I'm an A4 guy.

 

If you were only 7/10 of a quart low, I wouldn't worry oabout it. Top it up and go, it'll likely be OK.

 

i didnt have 7/10 of a qt in there.. i was 7/10 of a quart low..meaning they added 7/10 of a qt to make it full,

 

it wasnt feeling right, and i knew i was leaking some trans fluid.. i had someone check the fluid and add some bc i dont have any tools( i just moved), now it feels good
