i need facts!!!
this guy told me a tci 2000 stall is way too much for my car. he said i would just smoke em. if this is true, besides tires what do i do to help hook up and kick his vettes butt?
Re: i need facts!!!
who did u talk to? i dont know much if anything at all about stalls, but 2000 is not much bigger then stock. i think stock is 1800. that is no differnce at all. go with 2800 or bigger.
Re: i need facts!!!
I believe the LT1 has a stock stall of 1500 and the LS1 has 1800. But as stated above 2000 is barely anything for a daily driven car with basic bolt-ons, I would go with a 2800 - 3000 stall. But with those stall's you will burn the tires more so you might have to get some traction as well.
Re: i need facts!!!
Stock gears in an A4 are more than likely 3.23's or 2.73's. You don't have to change them but in my opinion it is very fun mod to do. I went from 3.23's to 3.73's and I felt a good difference and performance.
Re: i need facts!!!
Whoever told you that knows nothing......DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM ABOUT ANYTHING>>
is smoking them bad??? I never knew someone who didn't want to smoke um up a little.
I suggest a 2800 for daily driving, but if you are all about getting her done---performance to the wall....that last tenth of a second and getting pulled over by cops cause your spinning them at 1/4 throttle....and you don't even know it---cause you saw the cops and you are right in front of them...lol. If you want that then get the 3200 stall.
I really suggest you not buying anything at the moment though. You sound like you still have a lot to learn. When the time comes you will know exactly what you are buying and what to expect if you read and search these forums. You might not want a stall, you might want a set or gears, or headers. So my suggestion is call your friend and idot, and just wait and research what would be best for you and what is involved in buying certian parts. Such as with a Torque converter there is other things that are recomended with it.

Re: i need facts!!!
More than likely you would need a stronger rear end if you were pushing 400rwhp, although some have pushed that much hp through the stock 10 bolt.
only if he is running slicks or E.T. streets. You have to hook the power to blow the rear end out.......street tires will just spin releasing all that force--that would otherwise hand gernade your rear end.
Re: i need facts!!!
Limp mode is what the car goes into when the cars ecm is unable to control the tranny with a high stall converter. this is not a problen with any OBD 2. but OBD 1 cars have problems. By the way i have run 467HP on a stock rear for over 2 years and 25 or so 1/4 mile passes, this is with an auto and 315 Nitto drag radials.
