I have a 1993 LT with 700r4 stock 3.23 rear trans and k&n and 1.6 comp gold mags 1996 ss block with non-fbody intake.I have hooker cat back and cut out.

I have for parts an extra "freshened" bare block with just crank and caps in it 2 heads that need port, 2 cams comp 305h and a 305 or 306 i don't remember. I also have unused flat lifters and intake.

My goal to get best drivetrain set up I can for money. I will be removing the drivetrain in a few years for a new build.So not wanting to get too crazy though maybe h/c/i. Id like to get best power i can to the street. I'm going to run a N/A build not doing power adders at all including nitrous don't feel it will fit my needs.
My questions:

Can any of my old parts be reused (namely the comp rockers with less than 2k on engine with a rebuild i don't trust)?

Will the 305h cam work if with le or ai heads?

Should I just home port since i have extra set of heads, intake ect?

What cam to use if mine are not good?

Does porting t/b help i've seen mixed results?

Do i need injector swap?

Lastly given parts and budget what whould your build be?

My budget is 1500 to 1900 for engine. see other posts for drivetrain.

 

You should split this into two threads - one for the engine and one for the trans. I only left this on LT1 Engine Tech because it had engine components. Generally, a post this long, covering multiple issues doesn't get good results.
