I don't understand my clutch....

well, the other day i was doing a burnout and kinda burnt up my clutch doing it..i could tell by the smell when i was at the next stop. After driving it a few days after doing that, the clutch seems to still grab as hard, and doesn't seem to slip, but every once in a while i can still smell it as if it's burning!! How come I can still smell it, and only sometimes, while others i can't?? Actually I can smell it more when it's cold and i start moving for the first time, then it just kinda trails off. It's very faint when I do smell it though.

I have an idea(well, more like wishful thinking)...is it at all possible that I too off part of the disk doing the burnout and it's almost like dust now, and that it gets between the disk and flywheel and starts to burn it? I don't know, just a thought maybe???

Re: I don't understand my clutch....

nope, no chatter...grabs just as well as before this happened too. Probably around 5,000 miles on it, and it's a spec stage 2(which might be my problem)

I don't get it...I can still smell it burning sometimes! but it doesn't seem to be effecting the performance of the clutch....yet. How could it still be burning up even when driving easy on it?
