how much hp will a 10 bolt hold

just like it says. i have a 10 bolt posi out of a 95 z28 that my friend wants to buy to put in his car but he is running about 550 hp and i dont know if this rear can handle that much power.

if the car is a 6spd..then it's only a matter of time...an auto might last 2 maybe three good hooking launches.

550 hp .. wow! I would think your friend not only needs a 12 bolt but he would be looking at many other beefed up drivetrain components.

Yeah, 550 HP is a bit much for any 7 5/8 inch 10-bolt unless you are stick to street tires and do all the axle upgrades. Richmond gear says 400 RWHP is their comfortable limit on what to expect from a strengthened 10-bolt.
