How much does it cost to tub a car??
Re: How much does it cost to tub a car??
It's way to variable to give a reasonable answer. Factors depends on what you mean to include in the price, who is doing the work, etc. A big name shop is going to cost more than someone working on the side out of their garage. Installing some prefabbed components vs. a custom job. Are you including the cost of a new rear end, suspension, wheels, and tires? Fuel tank? Other changes? Do you mean a whole back-half or just wheel tubs?

If you do alot of the work yourself, an average cost for a complete start to finish track worthy tub job usually starts at $5K for everything. We've tubbed a car for $2500 but had alot of left over stuff from other cars that were recycled and we did the labor. A freind of mine just tubbed his 69 and had $5500 in the rear end only and total bill after the dust settled was just short of $8600.
But yes, that's an open ended question since literally everything going into it will affect cost + or -

Yeah, I have a friend who is back-halving his Mustang by a pro chassis shop. Custom fabbed rear end housing, 4-link, etc. and that's gonna be $10K plus. OTOH, if all you mean is narrowing your existing rear and welding in some prefabbed tubs, more like a couple of thou.
