How much can an LT1 flywheel be cut down?

OK I have had a lot of clutch problems lately.
To make a long story short the flywheel has been cut down 3 to 4 times that I know of, and the last 2 times it was put back in the car you could feel it had hotspots right away (even though it had just been cut down).

Well we pulled the tranny out again and the clutch is broken, and I figured all of the clutch troubles I had were because there may be hotspots all the way through the flywheel, and possibly because it had been cut down too far.

So if a flywheel is cut down too far can it cause problems??? Also can it still have hotspots in it even though you cant see them?

I have allready ordered a new flywheel, but my friend just took the old one to the machine shop because he thought it could be cut down again, and the machine shop guy agreed with him.
So what should I do?

Should I just put in the new flywheel and not worry about it, or should I trust the machine shop guy and put in the old one that he says will be fine?

Having it cut down 3-4 times sounds like a lot to me unless they only took a small amount off each time like 5/1000 or so. I had mine resurfaced once and they took 15/1000 of it. I'm pulling it again soon to install a SPEC 4 clutch, I dont want them to take much more than 5/1000 off this time. After that I dont think I would have it cut again.

This is just my speculation, but I wouldn't do it. 3-4 times does sound like a LOT. Like I said I do not know for sure just my opinion, but if you already have another one I'd just use it to be safe. I can't imagine that it'd be okay with a 5th cut on it.

OK...I'll use the new one.
Thanks guys.

BTW any ideas on what to do with the freshly cut old one that the machine shop claims is good???
