how do u lock up your converter on a dyno

how do u lock up your converter on a dyno

i hear people saying this and doing this .how do u lock ur converter onthe dyno??

I'm not sure you'd really want to. Usally, that something people only do when they build a torque beast and are trying to get more HP out of it.

What people do is wire up an override. You could splice in to the wire itself. but I think the ALDL connector has a TCC pin on it, that may be able to control it... Not sure though

The torque converter will lock up by itself at 95 MPH so most of your run will be with it locked.

You do get better numbers on a dyno with it locked by the way.

The lock up point can also be changed in tuning.

Search for 'lockup switch'. Take about 20 minutes to do.
