How can I find out what my...

I have a 93 T/A with a 6-speed obviously as you'd know from my sig. However 93 had 2 different gearboxes offered... the M29 that came with the 3.23 car and the M28 that came with the 2.73 cars. How can I find out what my gear is, I'm getting a tune from MadZ28 but I don't know what my differential gear ratio is.

TIA,
Andy

Just a guess here, but I THINK you should be able to look at your option codes inside the drivers door. It will either be GU2, GU5 and ?possibly? GU6 maybe? In any case, the GU2 is the option for the 2.73 gear ratio rearend. Another method that is foolproof is to remove the rear dif cover and count the number of teeth on the ring gear and the number of teeth on the pinion gear and divide em.

Both the tranny code and the gear code should be on the build tag.

It should be in the glove box.

Yes, you have 3.23's if it is a GU5. I don't think the 2.73's were ever available in a M6 car, am I correct?

In 1993 You CAN have a 2.73 with the M6, IT IS POSSIBLE, check RPO codes in the glove box, then go to http://www.camarosource.ca

You should have the M29 code along with the GU5. That link says GU4, that's a typo.

Ditto... GU4 is the 3.08's used in the V6's.
