on the street though, I ended with better milage cuz the car was never under load after the gears, I love 4.10's & I'm never going back
I'd rather be in second gear with 3.42's than 3'rd with 4.10's... Seems like a car will run out of steam way faster. From what I'm reading it seems that 3.73's are a good choice. I already stated I can't use 4.10's because with any sort of serious power, 4.10's make the car useless.

i went 3.42 to 3.73 with m6, and liked it. gas mileage really didnt change, rpms at highway are similar, felt alittle quicker at first, but you get used to it. i didnt see any change in track times though.

i probably will go back down to 3.42 when i add some more power, but for where i was its a good gear. if you are interested in what it will mean to you at the track, figure out what rpm, mph and gear you want to go through the traps with and what tire size you are using...

I have driven M6's only and have had 3.42, 3.73 and 4.10's. I definitely like the way the 4.10's throw you back into the seat. For me, traction isn't a problem. I have 275's and keep them fresh with Formula V so breaking loose is not something that happens as often as others.

I have 3.90's in my 8.8 and they are OK. I use to love them at first they were a great improvement over the 3.42's, but now i wish i would of gone more. If i could do it again i would do 4.10's maybe 4.30's. So IMHO i would go with 4.10's i don't think 3.73's would be enough.

I ended up getting the 3.73's. These are excellent gears IMO for a supercharged or turboed car. You really don't need the 4:11's with this much power on the street. But if you like to race a lot, get the higher ratio. The 3.73's are compromise between street use and track use. I kind of get the feeling that 3.73 should have been installed stock by GM, but they could not because of the gas mileage issue. This is why they had to incorporate the CAGS system.
From a driveability standpoint, the 3.73 gears make 6th gear more usable, especially on hills. I imagine the 4.11's would help 6th gear even up hills but wouldn't be as friendly on a level road.
Also, 4.10 or 4:11 gears tend to make more noise than other gears.

That's exactly what I think. I always thought that the car should have came with 3.73's from the factory... I need a rear end though I don't want to make the mistake of putting money into this POS 10 bolt.
