help with rpm

help with rpm

i have a question about rpm

my 94 z-28 is running 2000 rpm at 65 mph does this sound right seems high to me

i have 3.23 stock gears i am thinking.

anybody have idea if this sounds right?

A 4L60E (assuming that's what you have -since only the A4's have 3.23 gears), in O/D, with stock tire diameter (25.7 - 26.2" - but you didn't mention what tires you are running)) and a 3.23 rear axle will turn 1,875 RPM (26.2" tire) RPM to 1,911 RPM (25.7" tire) at 65 MPH. The stock tach typically reads 100-200 RPM higher than the true RPM. You can get the true RPM be reading the PCM with a scanner.
