Help With Getting C-Clip Off

Decide tonite I would try and replace my rear axle shaft but I cant seem to get the c clip off the end of the axle shaft. It is a non traction control car and has discs. I can see the c clip just fine but the springs for the posi seem to be in the way? Its a 96 Z also if it helps. Thanks

Make sure you push the axle as far into the housing as possible. Did you rememeber to remove the pin from the diff? The easiest way to remove the c-clips is with a magnet.

But I can barely even see the C Clip much less grab it, but my axle does not slide in very far.

Did you remove the pin from the differential? I think it is a 7mm bolt that secures the pin in the diff.

Also, you'll need to remove the ABS pickup. Its a magnet at each hub secured by one bolt. As you push your axles in, thats the first thing it hits.
