Help Clutch is hard to push in!!!!!!!!!!!!
Help Clutch is hard to push in!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok this is how it started. I started to drive home and everything was perfect. A couple of miles later I pushed the clutch in to go to 6th and I heard something vibrating. I did it again it still did it. When I got of the highway it started to do it all the time and the clutch became very hard to engage. I finally got it home and checked the resovir and it was empty. How do I add more fluid an bleed the line so that the clutch will engage again or is the problem worse then that????????
Re: Help Clutch is hard to push in!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like your slave or master cylinder seal busted and bent the rods and it leak out all the fluid. Just buy a new hydraulic set, they come pre-bled and with the fluid already in them, install takes about 30 minutes. If not, I think the only way to bleed these are by gravity bleeding and I have no clue how that works.
Re: Help Clutch is hard to push in!!!!!!!!!!!!
bought $115 shipped from gmpartsdirect I believe. Only thing you need to do is rip off the clip on the clutch pedal inside the car (have to buy a new one, get it from the dealer for like 2 bucks, just a standard C clip for the brake pedal will work) , behind the clutch petal you should see a stud with two nuts, undo those two nuts. Then in the engine bay (big pain in the *** with the fourthgen gigantic windshield) behind the brake booster the stud is there, pull it out (it holds the master cylinder in) and then just undo the slave cylinder under the car, thats cake. Pull out the assembly. And in typical Haynes fasion....
Installation is reverse of removal.

Re: Help Clutch is hard to push in!!!!!!!!!!!!
Inspect your clutch fork that it's properly seated. The bolt that held my fork pivot point backed out and broke. So when I pushed the clutch pedal in I damaged my slave cylinder (nothing to push against) so it leaked. Unbolt your slave cylinder and inspect the fork position.
Re: Help Clutch is hard to push in!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can inspect your clutch fork by removing the slave cylinder and looking in the hole. If the problem is the bolt that holds the fork pivot in place, you need to pull the tranny to fix.
