Having to manually shift my A4
Having to manually shift my A4
When I leave it in Drive or 3rd it will not go from a stop, it acts just like the car is in neutral. The only way it will start moving is if I put the shifter to 2nd (it's a 94 so that is as low as it goes) and then manually shift it through the gears. Any ideas on what could be causing this?
BTW, I have a Pro-Built Automatics "limited" street 4L60E tranny, if that makes any difference.
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Having to manually shift my A4
Did you ask Dana? I would say it is toasted, but don't want to bust on Dana's work without hearing what he thinks...
BTW, to make a corection. You don't have the 1st gear option on the selector because your car did not come with the performance package 3.23 gears... Not because it is a 94...
Also and FYI, the only thing holding you back from putting the selector is a little piece of rubber. pull the center console and you will see it, take a razor blade and cut it off. it takes less then 10 minutes and you will be able to put it in 1st gear manually... The selector will still only read to 2nd of course but if you pull it back once more, you will be in first...
