Goodyear P275/40ZR17 Eagle F1 Question
Goodyear P275/40ZR17 Eagle F1 Question
I have the factory Goodyear’s on my SS Camaro and will probably need to get new tires soon with only 30,000 miles on them. Is this typical for this type of tire? I do not consider my self a hard driver and don’t really want to speed the $300 a tire again if that’s how long they last.
I was considering the G-Force or G-Force KD tire. Should I expect this tire to last longer?

if u dont drive hard those tires sould last 45-50k but a good replacement is the Pirelli P7000, i love this tire and they last 4 ever seems like.

To a point there is a tradeoff between durability and traction. Obviously, as tire technology advances, this tradeoff will be improved with each new generation of tire. IMHO, 30,000miles is good wear from a set of high performance tires. You can try another brand, but if you get better wear you will progbably have to give up grip. As far as $300/tire, that seems high. The typical price is more like $190-200 for the F1 GS-D3. Still not an inexpensive tire I'll admit but in line with competitive tires (BFG g-Force TA KDW, Dunlop SP 9000, Bridgestone Potenza RE750).

Rich is right. 30K miles on a set of those tires is great. I don't even get 20K out of a set of tires. I've run Eagle f1's; G-Force T/A's; and Firestone Firehawks. All three are great tires and are pretty close in price, but I tend to run the BFG's as I get a good deal on them at work.
