Yes. The PCM uses the speed reading to adjust the idle air control motor, increasing the idle speed as vehicle speed goes up. That way, when the throttle closes suddenly, there is still enough air flowing through the IAC system to prevent the engine from stalling.

I'll have to call the shop that built my engine, to get the number for the tranny builder they use. Again, all this was done 10 years ago.

Re: getting the speedo to work with the th400

I'm really having a problem with this... almost like you are busting me. You don't program in codes. The PCM has to have a program in it, and the program has to match the transmission in the car. But the only choices are T56 (M6) or 4L60E (A4). If you have a TH400, you can either leave the T56 program, and use the Dakota interface box. Or you can have it PROGRAMMED with a 4L60E program and have the codes that will result from NOT having a 4L60E PROGRAMMED OUT. In that case you don't need the interface box.

Sorry... this is too frustrating. I'm done. If you can't understand it correctly at this point, there's nothing more I can do to help you.

The tuner said he took the M6 codes out and put the A4 codes in since I have the th400.

LOL dude your drivin fred crazy and i dont blame him.If you car came with a manual stock from the factory that means you need to get that dakota tuner.if your car came automatic from the factory..thus have a 4l60E in it(auto trans) you need to get the auto trans program programmed out of the computer and then you dont need the tuner.

In my case my car came stock wtih a auto so all i have to do is send my pcm out to get the auto programed out and just get that sensor and pickup and i should be good.so really all you need to do is take those 2 parts to a trans shop and find out what trans came stock in the car and go down either the auto road or manual road...dont go in the middle of the road lol.

I never told anyone - you or anyone else - that they need three parts. You're the one that posted a list of three parts, including a harness pigtail for an air compressor.

Please stop bugging me on this, including the PM's. I've made a major effort to help you, and you still can't seem to comprehend. There is NOTHING more I can do you help you.

Re: getting the speedo to work with the th400

Appears now you want to argue about what I recommended. I simply directed someone to a post that discussed the topic. I did NOT..... repeat did NOT recommend to anyone that they had to buy three parts.

This is getting totally ridiculous.
