getting ready to do t56 swap. resurface/balance flywheel?

getting ready to do the a4 to m6 swap and im wondering if its necessary to resurface the flywheel and/or get it balanced? It is a stock flywheel and will be mated with a stock clutch in new condition. yes i know its preferred that i replace the clutch and flywheel at the time of the conversion, but im going to save that for when i do heads/cam. So if the flywheel looks to be in good condition, does it need to be resurfaced or balanced?

thanks

Chances are the flywheel doesn't need to me balanced, but it couldn't hurt. I would definitely have it resurfaced though. It's cheap enough and should always be done when installing a new clutch. Hope that helps.

I would resurface it either way ($30) unless it's smooth and nice. Also check the thickness and shim if necessary. Thickness of stock flywheel should be 1.828" from surface to back.
