To get gears or not to get gears, that is the question

Right now my rearend has 3.23 gears. I know that 3.73 gears WILL help me, BUT I don't want to sacrafice too much strength either. I dead hook with my drag radials and that puts a lot of stress on those gears. How much strength would I be losing by going from 3.23 to 3.73. Also, it's going to cost about 800 dollars here for legit parts/install from a reputable shop...

I broke my 10 bolt on 275/35ZR 18's....on street tires...with 3.23's...if you go with a 3.73, you will be adding stress to those gears, especially with dr's...if you run at the track often on sticky tires, your 10 bolt will break eventually..if on street tires, they should work ok for a while.

I would not be too concerned about the strength difference between 3.23's & 3.73's. The loss in strength is nominal, especialy compared to the gain in performance. I would recommend getting the American Axle brand which is the OE manufacturer. These will be the quietest gears for your car. A good shop in Fresno is Fearless Gear.
