Gears or Stall?

I've got stock 3.23's in right now, and a "slightly" higher than stock stall, but not by much. I'm kind of teetering between gears and a stall. Gears would be great on the street - i would feel the extra torque all around... But a stall might be just as fun off the line too.

What does everyone else think?
Would it even be worth going 3.42's? 3.73's appear to be the preference for a lot of people.

Gears will probably work out to $1-200 cheaper too...

Re: Gears or Stall?

Put a Vigilante 2800 stall in the thing and thank me later.

Best bang for the buck out there.

The ads are true as I picked up a half second on a converter change.

Re: Gears or Stall?

Buy a "GOOD" converter, not a cheapie. I went with a Vig. 2800 and a set of 3.73 gears. It's a nice set-up. Next I'll be bumping the stall up to a 3600.

Re: Gears or Stall?

I'd go with the bigger stall, then up the gear later with some drag radials.
