Gears installed today... break in period?

Just got rid of those nasty 2.73s and put in some 3.73s this morning. My installer told me to break them in for about 80 miles and do a couple heat cycles and thats all i need.

Well i put about 80 miles on it, am i ready to see how sideways i get when i punch it, or should i wait? till what milage?

If you have done a couple of cycles, they are good to go. However, if they have made noise from the start (you have not indicated so) then get on them from the start because at that point it does not matter.

If they're going to make any noise, or if they're going to go bad, it probably would have happened already (I know that my 3.73's were noisy as hell right away when I had them earlier this year ) so as long as they're quiet and you've run them then let them cool a couple times, I think you're good to go!

You may notice that the car will spin the tires all the way through 1st and 2nd gear now, which probably wasn't an issue before!!! I know I had that problem!!!!
