Re: gears

Not an "engine" question. Moving to "Drivetrain".

Re: gears

If it is stock gears, look at the RPO codes. GU2 = 2.73, GU5 = 3.23, and GU6 = 3.42

Might want to add specific info about your car (a "Signature"), like year, model, engine, trans and any major mods. Make is easier for people to help you.

Re: gears

If you don't want to do any of that, jack up the rear and count the rotations of the driveshaft as you rotate the wheel one turn (ex. 2-3/4 turns of the driveshaft would be 2.73s). With stock gears and auto, will have either 2.73s or 3.23s. If you have first gear selectable on your shifter, then it came with 3.23s. If it only starts with "2", then it came with 2.73s. You can also use an online gear/RPM calculator to figure it out.
