Gear swap in the Toronto area

I just bought a 95 Z and as much as I love it, I don`t think the 2.73 gears are going to get the job done. The problem is sooo many people end up with
a gear howl that I am very nervous about changing them because it drives so
nice right now.Does anyone in the GTA guarantee their work?I won`t take "sorry some gears just make noise" as an answer.

Re: Gear swap in the Toronto area

I don't know of all the shops around that do gears, but a couple that I can think of are Agostino's in Pickering (www.agostino-racing.com) and Redline Performance in Scarborough (416-292-5320).....I'm sure either of these shops can do gears, I just don't know if you'll ever have a shop guarantee the job, because sometimes "some gears just make noise" is the truth. I don't know what ratio you're looking at? 3.42's are a nice "all around" ratio (good for city & hwy), while 3.73's and 4.10's are the more "extreme/performance" ratios. Most will probably recommend 3.73's. I can tell you from personal experience (and others' experience) that Richmond 3.73's have a bit of a reputation as being a noisier set of gears, while the set of Richmond 4.10's I have right now are actually very quiet. I think I've read that Motives have a pretty good reputation for being quiet.

Hope that helps?

Check out rolling thunderz up in concord, they do great work. Phone number is 905-761-3272. They can pretty much get any gear and recommend a good setup for you.
