Summit brand is usually another brand tagged with the Summit brand name. I'd find out who manufactures them.

They are pretty damn cheap, just checked myself. Can't find out what brand they are though. I have had a good experience with a summit brand shifter for my '80 z28. Thing looked identical to a hurst, with less than half the price tag for a hurst. They are probably richmond or motive, my bet would be richmond...but thats just a guess.

Re: summit gears, good or bad?

I dont know If I would trust off brand gears, but thats just me. There are alot of parts that I wouldnt mind buying sceptical parts, but gears isnt one of them.

I would call up summit and ask them who manufactures them... they might tell you. You could also compare part numbers... often times they will match the original manufacturers part numbers.
