Gas Milage with 2800 Stall
I'm not sure if it is any different on LT1 vs LS1 but I can tell you a 2800 stall on a LS1 would be very minimal for MPG loss. A few in the city and highway would stay the same as the converter locks up at 35mph I believe and the rpm's drop to normal.
Maybe someone with a LT1 & 2800 stall can chime in to confirm this but if it's like the LS1 at all then your not gonna see no diffence in hwy MPG and just a small decrease in city mpg.
Get the stall. Best mod any A4 car can do. Mine's on it's way and I can not wait to feel the difference over this crap stock 1800 stall.
Good Luck

I know im going to get blasted for this But: I used to have a Yank 2800 stall -a couple of years ago--Kept it three months, wasnt for me. Now im 47 so my needs maybe different then yours, but all i know is if my car had about a quarter tank of gas, i needed to get gas even though i only had to drive 10 miles flat to work with only a couple of lights. It only stands to reason that it takes more pedal --and gas-- to get going---For me when i got my stock tc back i felt like i gain 50 hp--car moved when i gave it the gas--Have fun with yours, their not for me

Depends how you drive. If it's mostly stop and go there will be a big drop. If you cruise a lot with the lock-up engaged, you will see a much smaller change. Not really much like your setup, but FWIW I went from 12-15mpg in suburban driving to 7-8mpg when I went from an M6 to a TH400 with a 4,200 stall (non lock-up).

75% highway driving and 25% city driving I got 22mph in my Camaro- HOTcam, ported heads, 2800 midwest etc. I agree with Rich though, the more stop and go driving the more drop in gas mileage you will see. It takes quite a bit more pedal to get the Camaro moving than it did before the converter. I think you can get the PCM programmed to use RPM for shiftpoints and not road speed, but I could be wrong. If that is possible I would think it would maybe help you out a little in the MPG department.
Edit: Either set the PCM to shift by RPM or make your part throttle shift points at slower road speed.
