Well, I counted the splines and they are infact 28...which is odd but whatever..its a ford. I ripped apart the third member and all that and the gears are **** anyway...about the only thing in there thats good is the crush sleeve and shims. Basically its toast. But we are still going to keep it along with the top laod tranny...I got you firepheasent, the second I read that I went to take everything apart and counted...no need to get ticked.

Anyway, I'm ordering the complete package from moser along with the 1200 dollar third member...this better be worth it thats all I have to say.

What about the driveshaft, krazwag?

I think you may have to shorten your driveshaft a little, but that may be incorrect, I don't know. I believe you may have to also use a different rear driveshaft yoke. Maybe someone else could go more into depth with that.

I was wondering about the length of the driveshaft and the yoke. I also have a 9 inch I recently bought and was reading your posts about what works and what dos'nt.

I had a Drive shaft made aprox 3/4" shorter than stock and If you shorten the stock DS you will need a conversion U joint either 1330 or 1350 in size to adapt the rear yoke.

Hey bunny it was not you I was iritated by. I expalined about the splines in one post then somebody else said you would need a need third member since Moser offers 33 spline axles.

I was just trying to clear up all the choices for since its alot of work and $$$$$ for a 9".

Firepheasent, okay thanks for clearing that up I was wondering why you were begining to get irrated! My Dad says its too much for just a Ford 9"...he says go with the moser complete set-up...or save another 3g's and go with either the strange 12 bolt or just buy the stage 3 rear end in the Currie Catalog. I really do appreciate your input though! Rear ends arent relly my thing. I haven't had great experiences with them...well, actually none...but who's counting!?

Krazwag, I thought thats what your question was going to be and I would have put an answer but I wasn't sure how many inches would need to be taken off and I didnt even know about the conversion to get all of your ducks in a row! Listen to firepeasent!
