I am going to swap my 4L60E for one since i lost 1st and 2nd gear. It will be fully built and have a fully manual valve body, 3600 stall, a tune, and a heavy duty transmission cooler.
Does the 700R4 have a VSS that is electronic and compatible with our stock speedometer?
Can you run the 700R4 without a TV cable? I plan on running a full manual valve body so i dont see how the TV cable would matter if it were hooked up or not. I just dont want to burn up another transmission.

Re: A few questions about the 700R4
YES, the TV cable is a must although the valve body is manual youstill need something to tell the tranny to downshift at WOT. You will burn it up if you dont hook one up or adjust one wrong.
Yes the 700r4 has a gear driven VSS that will work with your ecm same PPM count. For a 4th gen with standard gears you will need to make sure your speedo gear in the tailshaft extension housing is the red one. and the VSS you need is the gear driven one not the optical one. Your new tranny may or may not come with it.

I read that the TV cable isnt needed for a full manual valve body since it WONT downshift at WOT. It is all manually shifted. I also read that i can also swap my speed sensor from my 4L60e to the 700R4. I was just looking for other opinions.
