So what.. Just because you have a fast car doesn't make you a genius, all it takes is money. I've seen his cam topic and most people around here dont care for that kind o crap. If he keeps it up people will just start to ignore his juvenile behavior.

The LS1 DS has proven over time to be a better DS than the ones that came in LT1's, why take the chance, get a good aftermarket shaft if your that worried about it to swap a DS that hasen't failed for an inferior one...
BWAHAHAHAHH dude your an IDIOT So your saying that the LS1 Shaft is STRONGER than the LT1?? Just answer that!

If YOU were so smart you'd recognize that a large amount of LT1 people like to ditch their steel driveshaft in lieu of an LS1 driveshaft when they start to make power and cut hard short times. I'm not trying to start anything, but what you're saying is making no sense.
You too, answer the question. You think that the LS1 shaft is STRONGER than the LT1 shaft?? Come on I gotta hear this..

Yes. I do think it's stronger.

Stock LT1 steel driveshaft is about 2 3/4 and is very prone to balance issues.

Stock LS1 driveshaft is 3" diameter and aluminum, and proven to be more reliable and stronger than an LT1 driveshaft.

Personally I think they'll both take about the same abuse, but the LS1 would be a better choice.

Look at the beginning of this post. He broke his driveshaft with a 3.4 V6.

Also, why don't you show proof that the V6 cars come with a one piece driveshaft. I can't seem to find anything.

Just the type of response that I would expect from a immature *****....

I've done all the work to my car except for the Yank TC install (time issue) and am gonna be doing a T56 swap soon.

Why not act like an adult and be respectful of other members who take the time to try and help you, instead of trying to be the proverbial "Internet Bada$$" and insult people.

sorry to say but you are wrong my friend. injected is correct that the ls1 shafts are weaker and will twist very easily compared to an lt1 steel shaft. you should try doing your homework before bad mouthing someone who obviously knows more of what they are talking about than yourself. not to mention that the 98+ v6 f-bodys do come with a one piece driveshaft, i can vouch for this because my g/f's camaro is a one piece driveshaft and hers is a 99 v6. but im sure you already knew this too

I think everyone should stop arguing over whether LS1 or LT1 is stronger. IMO every one will be different, thats what comes from being mass produced in the hundreds of thousands by GM.

When you are talking custom DS like dennys or Inland or any of those other brands where they are produced on a much smaller scale, they are likely to all fail at the same point. Ill bet that neither an LT1 or LS1 DS is stronger, just opinions here on who saw what break at what point, but ive seen both fail at the same point or exceed that point.

WHy waste money on $hit I don't need when cheaper more ready parts work just fine
If it is the same driveshaft as the LT1's, why did you do away with your original LT1 shaft in the first place?

I will agree, just beacuse the ls1 shaft is lighter and better for power as far as rotating mass goes that doesn't make it stronger. Because in reality we all know that it's not stronger by any means. That's like comparing aluminum to titanuim

Because back in the day when my car was STOCK I didn't have to worry about putting down 600+ ft lbs of torque and pulling 1.4 60's at the track like I do now. So I wanted to get some extra power out of it back then so I put the aluminum shaft in there. So for the time being until I get a custom shaft Im running the 3" steel ds out of an 02 camaro v6!

I am getting a little tired of the tone in this thread. It has ceased to have any informational content and I am closing it. Try to make nice with each other, ummkay?
