I was driving my car home from work today and about halfway through, the pedal became impossibly hard to push in. I could only push it in about an inch or so. I wasn't driving hard or anything, it just did it right in the middle of a commute from work. Luckily it was after any lights so I could drive home without stopping, but does anyone know what would cause this. I searched for it but didn't find anything concerning it... Thanks.

 

brake pedal or clutch pedal?
if brakes, i would look at the brake booster, or its vacuum lines
if clutch, i would look for binding in the slave cyl rod and clutch fork, if u cant see any binding externally, the next step is to look inside
