Dumbest question ever - skip shift

OK, both of my previous F-bodies were both autos.

Is the skip shift from 1 to 3, or 1 to 4? Mine just does not want to go from 1 to 3 smoothly at all.

1st --4th . It will lock out 2nd and 3rd. Get the CAGS eliminator, or you can still run your car without it plugged in , it will not throw a code, but one would be stored- not rendering performance. If you do just" unplug it" make sure to tape up the ends of the sensor( pig tail or plug in tranni).... use electrical tape. I just unplugged mine, and its been fine for 4 years now , no issues----

Bad info. He has a 96. OBD-II will set a code, and turn on the SES light if you pull the harness connector.

With your OBD-I 95, you will get DTC 84, but no SES light

Do a "Search".... I've posted a drivers side view of the tranny numerous times, with the skip shift solenoid (its not a "sensor") labeled, along with the other components on that side of the tranny. Its right under the shifter, topmost/rearmost device.

So they have this cool function on this forum called "search"

ok, I'm being a jerk, but seriously, this was the seventh thread (including yours) in a search for "skip shift." All the info you need is there. Pick your method, and go with it.

https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...ght=skip+shift

I went one step further and took out the bulb for the skip shift light in the instrument cluster.

You fail at reading.

I'm not sure if this was directed at me or not, but I did use the search fuction...been here long enough to figure that out.

Also, the original question was the skip shift sequence...1st to 3rd or 1st to 4th...not how to eliminate it.

I was replying to davieboy_70's question about how to eliminate it, since he resurrected your thread, but I guess since he threadjacked, I probably shouldn't have replied... I probably should have quoted him, but I figured my post would be right under his, but Injuneer beat me to the post.

Speaking of Injuneer, why don't you give him grief?? Oh probably because he's one of the most helpful people here and I'm just some new jerk...

Anyways sorry if my smart aleck answer made you mad, it was not directed at you.

No one was responding to you... the thread sat dormant for 6 months... davieboy resurrected it from the dead, and we were trying to help him.

Sorry...I took it the wrong way I guess.

And I didn't get offended at Injuneer 'cause he didn't try to be a smart aleck
