Drag racing with a TC question.

I plan to get a TC soon and have a few questions. When I race with my stock one, I rev it up to around 1k to 1.5k and let it go. With a TC, do you rev it up to the stall or what? Like for the Vigilante 2800, I would rev it up to 3200 before letting it go or what? Thanks.

most TC racers just launch off the stall so it is more consistent...you can also flash the converter by just straight nailing it to the floor from idle, iirc you will get to a higher rpm before you start moving(with a 3200 regular stall you may be able to hit 3500)

It depends on the combination...I run a Vig 3600 and launch off idle in two stages as to not blow the tires off...On the 3rd yellow I pop the gas just enough to get the nose of the car up and then floor it...If I had ET Streets and a 12 bolt I'd still go off idle, but nail it on the 3rd yellow...However, with 2 kids in daycare there is no new rear in my future...
