Don't buy from art carr in tx

Long story short, my 4L60E is built to handle over 600 supposedly. It has a program of it's own that they gave it, well the car ran fine 3 times that day, went out to go to the store, backed out of the driveway, and it took off fine. Got to the stop sign and went to limp mode apparently. Fluid is fine, no ses, and just to be sure it wasn't anything just unplugged or anything I got under the car and started a once over, the vss though there was fingertight @ best. I tightened the 8mm holding it in place, no fluid leakage. I inspected all of the wires as much as I could, and everything looks good except, I have a slight header leak on the drivers side. The o2 wires the run next to the header look to be fine but the wirecovering is melted, wire loom if u will, I checked the wires and everything is fine, I appear to be getting power to the trans, and the kicker is this. I took the car to get it scanned by a shop to see if there was a code, even though it doesn't have an ses light, and the car ran fine, didn't miss a beat. Got to the shop just to find out they didn't have an aldl cable to hook up to my car. And as soon as I left the car went back to limp home. I have recently gotten the info to start running this down, but according to the real art carr's guys @ california trans, the solenoids could spec out but be mechanically bad, more variables, fantastic. So anybody got a way I can check and see if the solenoids are mechanically functioning? This is annoying to say the least. Also any ideas on what my first plan of action should be? Need to get a scanner, brought it to another shop, and they weren't able to do an aldl either. What's the deal?? Thanx in advance for the help.

Oh yeah, also art carr in abalene, however u spell it tx is owned by arts exwife. She got it in the divorce 10 years ago. The real art carr is california performance transmission in huntington beach, I think. Somewhere over there anyhow.

Re: Don't buy from art carr in tx

Now that I've had a few mins to put into the car this is what I've found. The car will start and back out of the driveway just fine, it has first gear @ that moment, and shifts fine to 2nd and 3rd. When I stop @ the stop sign, it no longer has first gear. I didn't not get it out to where I could try overdrive. Also after I stop and it loses first, the idle also increases, from approx 800 RPM to 1100 RPM, maybe a little under 1100. I was underneath the car and 1357 bank is running hotter than the 2468 bank. I have wiring harness plastic that has melted under the 1357 side. The wires inside appear to be fine, and they run to that sides o2 sensor, I have a header leak on that side, didn't think it was that bad though. So I was told by a chevy tech to disconnect the battery, after I check it for volts, and anps. Leave it for 30 seconds, then touch the neg and pos cables together, then reconnect the battery. Also that the fuse responsible for the trans on our cars is not listed, it's the O2 sensor fuse ore the maf fuse. What do u guys think? Oh I forgot, no check engine, no code. Finally got it scanned and no codes for the trans or engine, there was a code for abs though, oddly enough the abs inop light came on just after it was scanned. Next issue has already presented itself, go figure. Any help would be appreciated. Also I had chevy check since they scanned it and there were no codes, the obd system is functional, we found that out by checking the pcm and disconnecting the maf, it set an sel and the fans came on. So idk I'm lost. I have copies of the factory manual for the car, and it's not really a help here either. Any body had this problem before? I'm thinking of dropping the tranny pan and replacing the A solenoid, but it may also be a wiring issue. Thanx in advance for the help.
