Does gears cause stress on trans?
To answer the question, going to a higher numerical gear(3.73 to 4.56) will create a higher mechanical advantage between the engine,trans,driveshaft,u-joints versus the carrier and axles.A higher mechanical advantage reduces stress on those parts before the gears and increases stress on those parts after the gears.
This is a track only car. It will be at 130mph at 6800rpm's with 29'' tires in drive.
