does anyone know what gear oil I need
I have a 1994 camaro z28 and need to change my gear oil in my differential and need to know what I need to put in it and the additive. also what kind of posi and gear ratio do I have?
Re: does anyone know what gear oil I need
Your owner's manual tells you the info on the gear oil. You'll need about 2 quarts (3.5 pt.). Fill to the level of the bottom of the fill hole.
The SPID sticker in the glove box tells you the RPO option code for the gear ratio.
Axle codes
GU2 : AXLE REAR, 2.73 RATIO
GU4 : AXLE REAR, 3.08 RATIO (V6)
GU5 : AXLE REAR, 3.23 RATIO
GU6 : AXLE REAR, 3.42 RATIO
