Do I need this bolt?

I recently had my clutch go out, and upon re-installation, i found it was easier to install the bellhousing, and then the tranny. When I put the tranny in, I forgot the bolt on the top of it where it mounts to the bellhousing. So I have 7 out of 8 installed and tightened. Should I pull everything back down to replace this, or do you think it would be okay? I do plan on racing the car at the track once every month or 2.

All bolts should be installed. I would think you could put it in without having to take anything off.

I am going to go ahead and drop it back down to install the last bolt. I know it probably can be done with the bellhousing on, but I could not figure it out to save my life.

there are two top bolts from the tranny to bellhousing...to get it out go through the shifter hole with a long extension and tighten it from inside the car...its actually funny how easy it is to do it this way, you can even get an impact gun in that hole if needed, upside down of course

If you take the trans cross brace off and support the weight w/ a jack you can lower it enough for ample clearence to get that top bolt.

When you tilt the motor back, just be careful not to snap the oil pressure sending unit. It's located very close to the firewall.
