Car was running fine for a few days. I was not beating on it at all. I get off the highway and take off normal, the trans wont shift into third. It seems like sometimes the tach will bounce like its trying to shift. So is my trans toast? This happened suddenly, the fluid is full.

 

You either broke a band or a 3-4 clutch pack. Most likely the clutch pack.

 

aw man this sucks, it feels like it shifts to 3rd but keeps shifting back to 2nd. i guess its time for a rebuild.
