Question Help looking for a 700R4.

I want to put a 700R4 in my 1971 Camaro.
What cars can I get one out of I want one with a lock up converter and the D-tend cable no crazy computer stuff.
O Wait if it was a computer controlled then it would be a 4L60E right?
Thanks for the help.

1988-1993 700R4's are what you want to start with. These use the TV cable (not a detent cable) to control the upshifts & downshifts on these transmissions. These units can be built to take some horsepower, and can use the lockup torque converter easily. You will need the GM vacuum switch to operate the lockup torque converter. This switch is easy to install, and works very well. Are you planning on building the transmission yourself? What engine are you planning on using? What rear end gear ratio? These are things that you will need to know when ordering the torque converter, and how the transmission is to be built.

I have a 350 in the car it's just going to be a street car nothing crazy just a cruiser.
Its got 273 rear gears.
I have a Guy that I know down south of me that did a great job on my 4L60E in my 97Z28.
So I would probably have him do it saves time and money.
Body wise the car's not ready for the street just because of the roof rust and the front cowl rust.
I don't like water in my car.
I have a friend that works at a salvage yard so I can get a good deal on a transmission.
Thanks for the information.
