Differential Upgrade

I drive an 02 firehawk that didn't come with the optional Auburn differential. Should I upgrade it with a HD Zexel #65002. I race at the track once in a while, should I get this differential or am I wasting my money? Maybe a stronger rear-end? Input please.

What is wrong with what you have? Or, to put it another way, what would be your goal in changing to a different type of posi?

I thought that maybe this differential would be an upgrade. I just want to have the strongest and best parts in my firehawk. I thought without the optional Auburn I should do something. Some people mod out more horsepower and go for stronger rear-ends, I thought the Zexel would be an improvement but I'm not sure?

If you want to upgrade your posi unit, I'll sell you a brand new Eaton Posi unit, that I have..I couldn't use it b/c I have a series 2 carrier, and the Eaton is a carrier 3. The HD Zexal's are like $3-400. I'll make ya a deal. PM me about it..

Are you sure you didn't get the Auburn unit?? How do you check?

Well, I am not sure you will notice any difference. But the Eaton is a nice unit.

I have the optional Auburn Rear in my LT1. Is this worth keeping and rebuilding My C-clip went out on my passenger side and now the whole housing is leaking.

If you have an auto, don't change anything. If you have an M6, just don't put drag radials or slicks and you should be okay for a long while, but with the 10 bolt, it's a crap shoot.
