Difference in the 1994 and 1995 tranny?

I have a 95 Z28 and the built tranny in it seems to be giving me a little bit of trouble... So I guess I will have to try something different.

My question is are the 1994 and 1995 transmissions any different? My buddy tells me that he thinks he remembers there being a difference in the two, and I honestly can't find anything on it. I know the 93's are a different bird, but is there a difference from 1994 to 1995 4L60E's?

Thanks for the help.

Yes the 95 has PWM and additional solenoid now you can use a 94 in a 95 simply by adding the solenoid and wiring harness from the 94, To use the 95 in a 94 is a different story and require a valve body mod to work but still easily enough done

Any clue as to why my Performabuilt tranny would decide not to engage 1st and then was acting like it was hitting the rev at 4k in second??? I went and parked it and let it cool down... I went out there and cranked it a few hrs ago and it drove up and down the road normally.

Sounds like you went into limp mode, Do you have a stall ? limp mode allows only 2-3 gear manually Once you turn car off this will reset and all will be normal again. Limpcan set for a multitude of reasons but need to scan car first to see what codes are stored.

Yes, it has the 3000 stall... I told my buddy that it felt like limp mode, and it didn't let me get it above like 4,000. So I was kinda wondering what it could have possibly done it. Last night I got in it again and cranked it and it drove just like normal. lol I felt like I had got hit with a whole bag of wtf. I will scan it and see if I can pick anything up. Thanks for the info.

Some cars will set a code for shift solenoid B 2-3 with a stall , The PCM i confused by it it may happen occasionally all the time, never .If that's the case the test for that code in programing must be disabled
