Dealership re-calibrate speed-o?

I am going to be changing to some 4.10's pretty soon. I want to have a way to re-calibrate the speedometer before doing the swap. Can any Chevy dealership do it?

Thanks

I couldn't do it on my 96 Z. I work at the dealership and we hooked it up to the TECH2 and there was no place to do it on that year. I'm pretty sure the same will apply to your year.

Hey camarocrayz, you live in Newport? Guess what, me too. What color is your Z? You work at Kurtis? How did you get your's re-calibrated?

I'm pretty sure that any of the tuners (pcm4less, etc) can correct for 4.10 gears when they reprogram the factory settings.

Or, do what I do....!

40mph......50mph
60mph...75mph
100mph...125mph

have fun! and good luck. I'll check back after I get the computer done

PS - 4.10 gears are very drivable w/ 6spd as long as you don't normally drive over 75-80 on the highway.

if you dont get it corrected does it rack up more miles on your car than normal?

Yes, it will rack up your miles... and if you have an auto and change gears it will screw up your shifting points.

Any "tuner" can change your PCM for the 4.10 gears. PCMforless, Madwolf, Ed Wright, or you can buy the software and do it yourself (LT1 edit or Tunercat).

Dealerships definetely can't do it. You need a custom tune or you could use a handheld programmer. (like the Predator or Hypertech)

FYI, we offer a "saver" package that includes gear calibration.
