Daily driven stalled guys...

What's going on everyone? Sorry to beat a dead horse here but i'm new to the modding scene completely and I have some questions. Right now the car is pretty much stock and i'm looking to utilize the power I got before I go with any kinda bolton to increase power. So I thought a stall would be a good place to start. But I have never been in a stalled car before nor do I know the behavior of one. My friend has recommended a 3200 and another has recommended a 3800 stall. This car is daily driven and i'm just wonderin how different it becomes driving around town and that kinda thing. Any stalled guys around who care to share their experiences driving their stalled cars?

Is this a different car than in your sig because it says 6 speed?

Anyways, at first you can feel it slip a little more and it takes some extra gas. You get used to it in a couple of days. I have a 3000 vig which stalls @ 3200 when I mash it (they are under rated). The ls1 would like a higher stall because the powerband is a little higher. The car will drive much better with a nice high quality converter like a vig or yank. Don't go tci or b&m. They are not that good. I love my vig though!

Your fuel ecenomy will drop a little bit. Be sure to get one with a lock-up clutch in it as well. A car with a loose automatic feels great. It will make it feel like a different car.

Everyone is different. I really don't like the feel of a loose converter in a street car. If I were doing an auto for street use I would go modest on the converter and add some gear. As far as what stall speed, that would depend on the motor as well but I'd be looking at 2,800-3,200 at most. But some people swear that they enjoy driving around with a 4,000+ stall. I sure didn't.

My suggestion would be to shoot an email or phone call to the guys at Edge. I spoke to the owner (luckily) when i ordered. His name is Andre. The amount of knowledge that came through my phone into my ear was amazing. Now i have a lot more mods going into my Z right now then you but i also wanted something on the mild side for good street manners since i DD mine as well. With the new technology in these converters today, the quality is almost more important then the stall speed. He convinced me to go with a Street edge 3000 sp. I think anywhere in the 2800 - 3000 range would by fine for you but you my be dissapointed with anything lower.
