Cost for A4 to M6 conversion?

Not taking into consideration any parts. How much would be a fair cost for labor to do a full A4 to M6 conversion?

I am trying to decide whether to build my 4l60e for the 550 RWHP it is putting down or to convert to a 6-speed with a solid clutch. But if I go 6-speed, I will probably not want to do the labor myself - so how much do you guys think the labor cost for this would be?....

labor= rediculous.. if you can install an auto trans then you can do the swap.. its a pretty easy project.. not too mention rewarding if you want a manual.. cant beat getting in for the first time too row the gears haha

Wrong forum.... LT1/LT4 Engine Tech is not the place for tranny questions.

Moving......

Agreed!

My 4L60E blew in July of this past year ('06 ... holy crap, it's '07 now?!! ) ... anyway, by the time I tracked down a tranny w/parts, I had it in my garage on a Friday, and by the Sunday night, the car was mobile . Before it arrived, I had the auto pulled, and everything associated with it (shifter, pedals, flywheel, etc.). Using a couple of the independent online "guides", I already had the hole cut in the floor for the shifter, so when the tranny showed up, I just had to install the pedals, and then start bolting things up ...

... I am NOT a mechanic by any means (only learned what I could from my Dad who IS a mechanic) but aside from having a friend of mine provide physical "assistance" (slugging out/in the 2 transmissions) I did all the technical work myself . I think I put about ~24 hrs work into it, and I work slow. I've read where guys have everything done in about ~12 hrs!!

But there ya go, if you want to factor what labor would "cost", count on at least ~12 hrs, maybe more, depending on the skill of whomever is doing the work .
