converter advice

just got the call from a shop rebuilding my trans that anti-freeze got into the fluid, they recommended that i have the converter looked at. its a vig 3200 single disk with lock-up.

my two questions are

1. is it worth sending out to have it looked at (ie: compared to the cost of a new one)

2. i now have a le2 383 in my 97 t/a with 3.73 gears, is this still the ideal converter to have in the car now, i bought the vig 4 years ago when the motor was stock. the car is more of a street strip use with the odd trip to work (30 miles away)

thanks
steve
