Question ?conversion?

How expensive would it be to switch from a automatic to 6 speed transmission? What parts would i need to buy besides the transmission?

this comes up a lot.. do a search on 6 speed conversion.. the conversion parts are usual around $1500 for everything and then whatever in labor if u have somoene else do it.. the search will show up a link to a site tha thas a full guide and parts list of everything you will need, but im just too lazy to search it right now .

Re: ?conversion?

Besides the tranny you will need a bellhousing, pedal assembly, shifter, clutch hydraulics (master and slave cylinders and lines) and a clutch assembly. For the interior you need a new console and a shift lever boot. You will also need a new tranny crossmember.

For the money put in to buying the conversion, is it worth it?

Youre lucky if you get a full kit with EVERYTHING for 1500. Plan for 2500-ish...just to be safe...I wound up spending 1500 for the kit and 1200ish for the clutch and everything...but I am particular about things...

Good luck and have fun...it is worth it.

Re: ?conversion?

I recently did the conversion and could not be happier with the results. The car is lots more fun to drive. It is an involved process to do it right but from the looks of your car you see things through. Good luck with your decision.

i really need to save that link somewhere for myself .. but i guess i got lucky on my kit then i got EVERYTHING for 1000 but then deicded to go ahead and do a new clutch pp and re-surface flywheel so totaled up at 1700 though im not sure now cause the place i got everything from has lost the crossmember and has to find me another one now *sigh*..
