Clutch Or Tranny

Lately when I have been shifting into gears it makes a slite griding sound, usually into 1st or 3rd. ITs not every shift but sometimes. The car has 88K on original cluth from my knowledge. Have any of you had those problems and if so what was the outcome?

Does it make the noise when you mash the clutch to the floor or when you go to shift? If it is when you hit the clutch to the floor then my guess would be that your t/o bearing is about to go out.(Am in the process of replacing mine now)But that is just my .02 for what it's worth. Good luck and pray like hell that it is the t/o bearing!

Also I forgot to mention that if it is when you shift then it sounds to me like maybe you've got a synchro tryin ta go bad since you said it was usually from 2 to 3. Another .02
