Clutch Overheated

Hey,

I was at the track, and after the run, the clutch pedal went to the floor. I am pretty sure this overheated. Will a new clutch fix this problem? of should i look into a new cluch master cylander and the drill mod? or ALL?

Thats a hydraulic problem. You shouldnt have to replace the clutch if it wasnt slipping. You need either a new master or slave cylinder. Ive always replaced them as a set. If you buy it from the dealer that way, it comes pre bled, and you just bolt it in.

Re: Clutch Overheated

what about the 'drill mod'? also, i have heard that you should upgrade to the McLeon MC.

on a side note, is bleeding the lines the same as doing the breaks?

On your car and all LT1 cars yes, but on LS1 cars the slave is on the mainshaft of the tranny, so to replace it you gotta take the tranny out. If you by the clutch master cylinder form GM it comes pre bled to where it clips into the slave.

You probly need a slave, they have been know to go out. But your better of replacing both at the same time anyway, and do the drill mod while your at it. You may just want to try and bleed it and see what happens, it might help you to get some new fluid in there.
