Which clutch for my application?

Which clutch for my application?
I currently have a Spec 4 clutch. Quite frankly, I do not like it. However, I do like how hard it grabs when racing.
IMHO, its really too much for a street car. In the heat of summer, it grabs extremly hard when it gets hot, plus I dont need this much clutch. I'm looking to downgrade to a more streetable clutch.
I have bolt-ons and will soon install 100-125hp N20. (400rwhp +/-). I do not go to the track very often, but I do some. I only go once or twice a year (if that).
I want a clutch that can hold the power but yet be street friendly. I don't want this clutch to wear out in like 5k miles though .
The McCloud Street Twin is too expensive and too much clutch for me at the moment. Thats my top choice though.
I'd also like this clutch to be realitivly inexpensive (like less than $500).
I figured since I had my T56 out for some work I'd change the clutch while I am at it so I wont have to pull it back out
Any opinions and recommendations would be greatly appriciated!!

Re: Which clutch for my application?
Fitting all of that criteria, you are pretty much stuck with a SPEC IV. I wouldn't run any of the sprung disk SPEC's and the Street Twin is the only other clutch out there with any history that would suggest purchasing one. 400rwhp could mean close to 500rwtq and thats 550-600 ft-lbs at the flywheel, any clutch with that kind of holding power is going to be grabby if you get it real hot.

I hate to say it man, but I think you should either stick with what you have or go with the Street Twin.
When I drove your car, I kinda liked the clutch. I liked that it engaged quickly and positively. No worrying about it slipping that way.

Maybe I'm just a wussy
Do you think my clutch can account for the problems I'm having? It has been bitter cold and rainy, so I can not go out and bolt it up.
After Christmas, I'll be contacting Paul from MTFBA. I'm poor now :P

Yeah I'm betting its in the trans also. My reason being is because ever since I did the conversion, I have had some weird noises with the T56 (expecially in 3/4)

Re: Which clutch for my application?
If you want streetability you don't want a street twin! I have sold them to two different customers (against my advice mind you) both said that they didn't get what they expected and are having streetability problems. There tech line will swear up and down that they are streetable but I have driven them on two different vehicles and I thought it was a pain for street, great for the track, bad for the street. I like Centerforce and Zoom but htats because all my stuff has to be streetable.

I have no issues with the ST being streetable and even have the ALUMINUM Flywheel. It has been perfect since day one and a lot more stockish then the SPEC(s) I went through. You can even use reverse without all the hell raising my SPECS would provide. Installed correctly, there is no comparison between the 2.

Re: Which clutch for my application?
I have the street twin in my car, and it works really good. When I first put it in it was real grabby, but then I got stuck in traffic for a couple of hours and as miserable as it was it broke the clutch in. Now I launch on nitrous at 5 grand with ET street and cut 60 ft time in the 1.50's.
