Re: Changing 2:73's to 3:73's

your gonna feel alot more low end pickup, make sure ya got sticky tires onthe rear... Make sure when ordering the gears that you order 2 series 3:73's so they fit correctly..I know thunderracing.com carries 2 series 3:73's

you will also need your speedo adjusted for the gear change..a simple mail order tune from madz28 or pcmforless.com will help ya out and get ya performance gains aswell.

this should be in Drivetrain fourm

I havn't actually went through the swap but I did trade a 2.73 T/A for a 3.73 Z28. I actually think I gained MPG around town and it makes the car much more fun to drive. That alone is worth the swap.

its a huge difference from 2.73 to 3.73! it took about 3 tenths off of my 1/4 mile time, your car will feel like it has new found life .

Excellent, excellent, excellent. You won't regret it. I've had mine for about a month and a half now and I love them. Takes some getting used to, but it's great when you do.

This must be the 493839th "2.73 to 3.73" topic I've seen in the last month.....lol. Do a search; I'm sure you'll find more than enough info.

It will feel like you added 36% more rear wheel torque....... but then you'll run out of RPM faster in each gear.

Have you checked into cost ? Are you leaving the factory posi unit alone ?
Just wondering, 'cause it sounds like fun.
