99 vettes used LS1's, and if I remember right had the transmission in the axle. So no, I do not think it will work. Even if it did work in fbodies, it would not work in 93-97 because of the LS1. I don't think that converter is out of a 99 vette.

It will work. The LT1 and LS1 vettes use the same stall, the ones from LS1 f-body or GTO wont work.

How does that work if the transmission is in the axle, or is that 6 speeds only?

I just noticed on Yanks web page they list the C5 verters with the LT1's. I saw that before when I ordered a verter for a friend but I didnt think much of it.

Both, I saw a drawing on TV for a second. The driveshaft goes into the TQ ,which is connected to the A6, which is joined to the rear end. Looks weird.
